Houston, Texas (KTRK) – Hundreds of people demonstrated in the Galleria area against the Iranian government on Sunday afternoon.

A sea of people gathering and chanting, waving Iranian flags, asking for change, calling for the support of all local, international and national leaders.

This is due to the global protests that erupted after the death of 22-year-old Ms. Mahsa Amini.

They want the world to talk about human rights violations in Iran and call for a change of government in Iran.

Amini was arrested after police in Iran became upset that she was not wearing a headscarf in accordance with hijab laws.

She was taken into custody and died several days later. Many activists say they believe Iranian police beat her to death, but the government denies this.

People all over the world are coming together to bring down the regime and address the restrictions on personal liberties.

“Women of Iran, we want freedom too. We don’t want others to tell us what to do, what to wear, where to go. We don’t want that; we want freedom. That’s why we’re here. We don’t want the Islamic Republic of Iran anymore,” said Arizu Daneshvar, of Houston.

They want change and they want it now.
